Codes P0507 and P2173 on a 2009 T/C
#2
P0507-IDLE SPEED PERFORMANCE HIGHER THAN EXPECTED
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
The objective of the Idle Speed Rationality monitor is to evaluate the ability of the idle speed control system to achieve and maintain a steady idle, by monitoring engine RPM during idle. If engine RPM is not within a calibrated deadband of target idle speed, a timer is started. If the timer reaches a maximum threshold without any sign of the RPM trending towards control, a fault is generated.
When Monitored:
With the engine idling in drive, the brake applied, MAF below 250 mg/tdc, air temp above -17.8° C (0° F), coolant temp is above 70° C (158° F), Evap purge below 100% duty cycle, and no VSS, MAF/MAP, ECT, TPS, ETC, CKP Sensor, fuel system, or injector DTCs present.
Set Condition:
Engine speed is 200 RPM or more above target idle speed for 30 seconds. Two Trip Fault. Three good trips to turn off the MIL
Possible Causes
PCV SYSTEM LEAKS OR RESTRICTIONS
PCV VALVE STICKING OR STUCK OPEN
ENGINE VACUUM LEAKS
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)

Ok, so where should I start? My wife (she was driving when it happened) just told me the the van freaked out, the traction control, engine and Electronic Throttle control lights came on. this all happened while she was stopped, in gear and was adjusting the petals. She tried to drive but the van would not go over 30mph. she stopped turned it off for a couple of minutes, restarted and van ran find but still had a check engine light. I reset the codes, everything seems ok. I am noticing the rpms at idle floating some, about 50 rpms. She just took it to the grocery store which is a 22 mile round trip, no problems. I am using the Autoenginiuty Scan tool software with the Chrysler module.

Got the PVC valve in today , motor idles better, no codes drove it 50 miles didn't miss a beat. Get a good PVC valve, ones from Advance and auto zone are chinesse junk and don't come with the needed gromet. As for this T/C I am thinking of selling it a going back to a 2006 t/c limited. anyone want a good deal on a 2009 T/C?
