Default cruise control problem with Voyager 2.5crd 2003

A friend has a problem with the cruise control , when he drives on cruise the car rides a few km slower then the car accelerates a few km then back to slower it's for seasick become.
When you brake and you will to cruise again at the same speed with the set control, that works not.

Know somebody this problem.

The speed control system consists of electrical and mechanical parts. It senses the speed of the car electrically, then sends an electrical signal to a vacuum powered motor to adjust the throttle position. What you describe is "hunting". The system is having a problem finding the correct speed. Most likely, this is caused by slop or binding in the mechanical part of the system. Carefully inspectthe linkages associated with the vacuum motor and throttle connnection. Make sure there is no looseness (slop) or excessive tightness (binding) at the joints.
Also look for problems such as leaks or a pinched hose in the vacuum system.

sorry.

the car in trouble is 2,5 crd engine. you probably missed that part.
therefore, it doesn't have a throttle and it is not likely that it has a leak in the intake hoses.

but the rest stays.
problem might be in the speed sensors, but more likely in the motor that is adjusting the lever on the fuel pump (accelerator).
hardly a DIY job for a begginer.

The fuel pump on the CRD is a c3 pump so has no lever. The fuel amount is controlled by injector pulses not by fuel governing. I will have to check but I think there is a reset on DRB under miscellaneous so if so would be dealer time.

might be that you are right.

but, cars catalogue that I have says that 2003. model with 2,5 liter engine is a normal diesel engine. only newer models, like 2,8 CRD have common rail system.

however, I think it's more likely that the problem is electrical then mechanical.

Hi
the older 2.5 wouldn't be listed as a CRD (Common Rail Diesel) as they are don't have a fuel rail. but I understandnow, didn't think they stillused that engineup to 2003
