My 2005 t&c driver side door intermittently won't close. When it doesn't close you still hear the latch release try to release. Everything else works fine. Someone said the lock actuator might be going bad but I am not sure if that controls the release and the locks or just the locks. any ideas?

 

Call it brain freeze from COLD Buffalo,NY...do you mean the drivers door or the power sliding door of the drivers side?
I have found that the sliding door hinges and rollers need lubricating from time to time, as they tend to get sticky and "fool" the contact switches in the door, making them work much like you describe.

 

Sorry, yes it is the passenger side sliding door. It roles fine, it's when the door tries to release the latch to close you hear it try but doesn't release.
