drivers seat moves on it's own
Hi everyone!
i have a 2009 chrysler grand voyager limited with a problem with the drivers seat
when you open the door slowly the seat moves backwards and forwards repeatedly several times until you either shut or fully open the door
the mechanic has replaced the drivers seat module but still no luck
any ideas?
any help would be very greatly appreciated!!!

I had the same "mad seat" syndrome on the Jag. Turned out it was deliberate. It was a program option presumably for old people who had difficulty in getting in and out of the vehicle. Worth looking into on a Chrysler?

thankyou so much for taking the time to get back to me.
I don't think this is a deliberate function - I know the voyager has the easy exit feature but the seat is only supposed to move back once when you are entering or exiting the vehicle, mine jiggles back and forth repeatedly...
makes getting in a bit of a trick - although it does eventually stop if you open the door fully!
thanks again anyway!!

There's one other thing you can try for nix. Do a hard reset on all the micros by disconnecting the battery -ve for a few minutes. On here some have said they lose the radio code by doing this, some say not. You may get lucky and clear the fault, with no pain in the wallet.

Hi again!
just thought I'd let you know in case someone else has this problem that it was a partially severed wire in the drivers door...
only took a few days and a module replacement for them to work it out...
thanks to everyone for their help
cheers
