Default electrical issues HELP!!!

I have a 1998 t&c 3.8l . 1st the door locks would lock and unlock by themselves, doesnt matter if the van is parked, off and the keys out or if im driving down the road. Then I was driving at night and started hearing the "ding, ding, ding" the sound you hear when you leave your headlights on after the van is shut off, except that Im driving down the road. The only way to get it to stop momentarily is to shut off the lights and turn them back on, but then it starts again shortly after. Help!!! It is soooo annoying.

is the "door ajar switch" causing the dinging sound and the lock issue or are they caused by different things. where is the switch located, i know my dome light doesnt come on any more when the driver side door is opened.

thanx
