Two issues - firstly, the taillight fuse (number 7) keeps blowing and takes out the dash each time - any suggestions as to where to start looking for the short? Secondly, highbeam does not work on headlights - headlight switch or multifunction?

 

I would start at the tail light I have seen the brake light element burn out and lay across the tail light element and short out the system or vica versa. After that a wiring diagram and connector location diagram would be helpful as then you could unplug it at certian locations and try to pinpoint what section is giving you a problom. If you can get it to go to a short all of the time you should be able to use an ohm meter set on continuity and go one lead to the chassis for a good ground the touch the other lead to the tail light pins. One should be ground the others should read open. If one of them does not you could just keep moving towards the switch one connector at a time. This would reveal the shorted section of the harness. Or you could just install a large piece of foil over the fuse and see what starts to smoke or melt first thus indiacating the shorted section, Just kidding good luck.

 

here ya go unplug everything and see if it blows if it does U have a shorted wire if not plug back in one by one untill u find the one with the issue.

chrysler at one time ran all the wiring that went tothe back through the turn signel mach under the steering wheel.
