Default excessive fuel consumption pover loss 2.5 crd 2001

Hello everyone i looking for some help or advise, here is my 2.5 crd grand voyager story, bought this car around 4 months ago,was very happy with it,nice looking well packed with extras family car,but its all to be about change when recomended by my fried disided to try kinda fuel savers from ebay,http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FUEL-SAVER-Gas-Petr... as paid £ 13 for two magnets fitted them on a fuel pipe and as per instruction resetted ecu by disconecting battery for 12 hours to changes take an effect, driving it next day directly noticed significant loss of power and excessive fuel consumption disputed my careful driving style average was 20-22mpg or 12.8 l per 100 km,it was eating around 40% more diesel then usual, they manual explained this with a engine entering kinda of cleaning cycle with can last up to 1500miles,then it will return to normal as even better giving me extra mpg and power, after 1900miles only change i saw was huge gap in my wallet and car with struggles to pull its self, entering motorway is pure disaster to pull it up to 80miles it takes a fortune the engine fells like dying, fed up by all this removed the magnets, drive for a day with no difference,(hopefully)resseted ecu by discon.battery for 12 hours with no changes again,im really stuck now with a car not returning to normal fuel consumption and torque,as my daily average milage is around 100 job,family,etc..it became very expensive to drive, can someone rescue me by some advice.Regards Igors.

hmm...it's a few days early for April the 1st.

But just in case. The fuel savers do nothing. Disconnecting your ECU for 12 hrs does nothing.

Are you sure you disturbed nothing while buggering around? Other than that the symptoms are too vague with too many possible things it could be without any fault codes or diagnostic results.

Regards

Richard

Please do update when it's resolved. I know that in the engine bay the fuel line on a 2.8 is not easily accessible and it would be easy to dislodge a vacuum pipe or connector.

Richard
