Default Grand 3.3v6 Gearbox Issue when cold

Hi

I have a 99 87000mile 3.3v6 grand voyager and the autogearbox has just started to develop a fault when the engine is cold. Just after starting you cannot get and gears (fwd or rev) until you move al the way thru the gears a few times, rev the engine a little then yuo feel it 'clunk' in and off you go. It may slip out once or twice in the first mile but after that it's fine.

Car is well looked after - changed the eng oil every 3000m etc, have changed the gearbox oil and filter twice in the last 3 years to try and keep it running sweet (used ATF4 oil too).

Any ideas or am i looking at a big bill??

Thanks

Hi, I the same problem on my -97 grand voyager 3,3l. One thing I heard was that the torque converter can be out of order. New 300euro + 8h work.....

Default Could be oil level

Had same thing a couple of times. Was caused by low oil level on gear box, so pleas check if same applies to you.
