Default Grand Voyager Cuttin Out

Hi guys, just joined this excellent site and already have a question that needs answering. I am the proud owner of a 1997 Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3 Le but just recently it has been cutting out on me when I am driving. When I try and restart her, sometimes not all the time, the engine will turn over but not start. This can happen after a few miles or after a greater distance. I have tried the ignition test of 3 starts to get an error code which gives me 54 which i believe is no camshaft signal detected during engine cranking. Would this fault cause the car to lose drive or is there another cause.

All help gratefully recieved
Shaun
