Default How to do a "quick-learn after a trans valve body service.

I just replaced, what I believed to be a bad Range Sensor in the transmission of an 07 Town and country. I found instructions on how to replace it, you just drop the valve body, replace the sensor and reassemble. But it doesn't get into any detail on how to actually do the "quick-learn".

I assume it must be done with a good scanner, in other words, my little hand held jobby ain't gonna cut it. It may be accomplished by doing some sequence of things, like, key on and off x number of times, hit the brake...etc.

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this, even if it's just a link to info on it. I've spent some time searching but there's so much garbage on google that it's aweful hard to actually find what you're looking for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Wayne

Best is to use a scan tool with bi-directional capabilities and reset adaptive shifts.
Home brew method that is said to work:
Remove power from PCM (pull fuse or disconnect battery (for 10 minutes)
Then :I did however get the following information from a member over at the DI site
"That quick learn procedure is the lazy mans way of doing a system reset. You can reset the PCM and do a "full learn" by doing the following: 10 WOT down****fts on the highway, 10 runs from 0-60 at mid throttle (runs it through all gears at mid throttle) and a few 0-60 runs at WOT. The rest of the adaptive tuning will complete after a day of driving or so.

Like I say, I have a sneaking suspicion that this could very well be an issue with the security system. I don't know enough about how Chrysler products achieved "anti theft" or "theft deterrent". If it achieves this by not allowing the car to achieve being in Park or Neutral, that would certainly keep it from being started and therefore stolen. Do you know anything about how that system deters theft? If my suspicion is correct, if it removes the ability to achieve Park or Neutral...well, then it would appear I've been going about this all wrong.

I think I'll post a new thread inquiring about this but feel free to reply here if you have knowledge of how it works.

Thanks,

Wayne
