In the past I've been told re. insurance that the big influence on the premium quoted is simply where exactly you live. And that the presence in your area of one of those private claims companies "no result no fee" operators can have a dramatic upward effect on your quote. However I don't know if the police crackdown on the fake accident operators has had an effect. Some very strange things were going on between insurance companies and lawyers over claims details.

Here's somewhere you can check your postcode. I'm ML11 which covers a lot of the small towns and villages in these parts, we're a B.

I'm with RAC now via Compare the market. Cost £282 fully comp but I'm an old Git, not a dittery Git like you see on the roads thou. I live outside Dumfries, in the trees beside the Deer, rabbits, Pheasants and all birds. Our neighbours are cows and sheep. So maybe that's the difference in my price.
