Default Left Dash Speaker 2001 T&C Infinity

I have the Infinity stereo system in my 2001 T&C. The driver's side dash speaker didn't work until I accidentally hit the driver's side door panel before turning on the stereo one day. The speaker played and sounded great for a few minutes and then faded out. I determined that if I hit the driver's side door speaker with my foot (only while the stereo is OFF), the speaker will play for anywhere from a minute to an hour. I looked and didn't see any obvious loose wires. Any ideas?

I would take an educated guess that the amplifier is monitoring the speaker impedance, once it detects a fault it wont use that speaker even if the fault clears, hence it only working after being kicked when switched off.

If you can't see any damage to the wiring then I'd try swapping the drivers and passenger side speaker to see if the fault transfers. If it doesn't then you know you'll have to look at the wiring again.

Regards
Richard
