ok, had a look, it appears as if one of the injectors is weeping very very slightly. it seems there is a bit of coloring on the alloy around it that looks like diesel is getting out there. however i cand see or feel any, but the engine won't rev due to thie limp mode. I have a replacement fuel filter. i am going to change that in few minutes.

news flash.....

just came in to have a coffee and looked out of the window at the car. something was dripping from under the nearside of the car.... it is diesel. will have to jack it up and have a look! if i can stop the leak i reckon the problem will go away
