Default OBD Codes

Hey all,

New to this forum.

I have a 2005 T&C 3.8 Touring and I recently failed inspection because of OBD Codes 300 and 303. My Check Engine light had been on for quite awhile, and I understand the failure was due to a pollution control issue. I have also noticed my MPG have gone from approximately 18 to 20MPG down to 14+MPG in recent months.

Question: Is this a DIY repair or does this have to be repaired by a licensed facility?

Thanks in advance to any/all who reply.

Did you do research to see what even 300 and 303 means?

Yes, I have. 300 refers to random/multiple cylinder misfires and 301 refers to Cylinder 1 misfire. The paperwork I received from the DMV states the failure was due to a pollution control issue.

Now that I've answered your question, are you interested in answering mine?

That's all been done. Now my engine oil light is on and stays on when idling. Don't know if that is associated with the error codes or whether my oil pump or oil sending unit may be going bad. Just trying to find out how much these types of repairs will cost.
I purchased the car in early 2012 and have put almost 200,000 miles on it. That, along with the inherent brake problems with the T&C and maybe it's not worth putting additional money into it or trying to fix it myself.
