Default Odometer/Speedo Needles

Chaps i have a 2002 Grand Voayger 2.5 CRD, at some point i think the battery went down on it before i bought it. When trying to start it the Spedo Needles fly round, once its started the Speedo is fine, any idea what the problem could be?

Thats the instrument cluster performing a self test. It does this when the battery voltage is low, so your battery is either at a low charge state or on it's way out.

Should stop doing it if you drive it alot or charge/replace the battery.
