Default power lock actuator

Just curious how much work is involved in replacing my drivers side lock actuator on a 01 T&C, it makes a nice grinding sound like it wants to work but doesn't like it, thanks.

Default RE: power lock actuator

just to update this, I replaced mine in about 30 minutes, it is the latch and actuator. List price is about 54 bucks at the dealer, who sold me one for 38 bucks cause I get employee pricing, however it is easy to replace just need patience with the clips that hold the rods on, works like new again.

Default Door Lock Actuator

I need to get a right passenger door lock actuator for my 2001 T&C Limited. It makes a screeching sound when it locks.

Do you know where I can find one, in addition to the dealer, and about how much it would cost? And the part number?

Also, how labor time is reasonable to install it?

Thanks,
Kenn

Did you ever get a part number for your passenger door lock actuator? I need one for my '02 T&C and want to bypass the dealer as well. Partsgeek.com has several that are supposed to go to my van and I don't know which I need without tearing the door apart first. Otherwise "having" to call the dealer.

Default T&C Door Lock Actuator Part Number

For the right front door for my '01 T&C, the part number is was given to me was 5109862AA. I haven't had it replaced yet.

It screeches every time the door locks with the power control. Annoying.

I remember reading a Chrysler post somewhere that the electric motor in the actuator could be replaced for about $10 for the motor. But I haven't able to find that posting.

Had the same problem with my Lexus. Bought 4 motors for $20; had them installed for $125/door. Along way from the quoted $350 for the actuator itself.

Yeah my '02 screeches all the time. For a while it worked with the screeching, now it doesn't work but still screeches when the power lock switch is engaged. I took the door panel off and of course it's all going to be blind work inside the door frame. Does the actuator have the motor? I'm wondering now if it's just the motor I need to replace? Thanks!
