Question Rear gate lock actuator

VOYAGER 2.8 CRD 2005:

Often the rear gate electric lock actuator does't work, so i have to open the gate with the key. I removed the actuator (when not working) and powered the gray connector (2 wires) with 12V and it works!.
So when it doesn't works is because it has not 12v power: why?

Most likely a wiring fault then. A good place to start would be where the wiring flexes as goes from the tailgate to the body.

Regards

Wiring checked and no problems found!
Magically this morning the electric liftgate lock works fine...
Could be a BCM intermittent problem?

possible, but intermittent problems tend to be wiring or connectors. The best way to check this kind of suspected wiring problem is to disconnect either end of the wire you want to test and then put 12V down one end and attach a bulb at the other end and shake, yank, jiggle, pull etc. the wiring loom all down it's length and see if you can get the bulb to go out.

Regards

I have an intermittent problem that sounds like yours.....I find that every now and then, I have to put my hand on the trim above the license plate and push down with very little pressure and hit the unlock on the key fob - and it works fine.

I 'suspect' that a slight adjustment or lube on the latch would solve the problem, but keep forgetting to do either....<G>...maybe this will prod me into action??
