Default power lock issues(just curious)

hi all
i know there is a update for the bcm at the main dealers, i own a g/v 2.8 td 54 plate uk version
power locks stopped working after about 2 1/2 years of owning the vehicle and just like everybody else on here pulling the iod fuse or disconnecting battery solves the problem sometimes for about 10 minutes or sometimes for a couple of days, my question is.
is there something that actually activates the software fault in the bcm e.g setting the key to just open drivers door first or automatically locking the doors while driving, just wondering as it didnt do it for 2 1/2 years and then suddenly started i would of thought if it was a software issue with the bcm i would of been having theses problems more or less from getting the vehicle ,it has been doing it now for a few months,i didnt touch any of the lock settings in the overhead console display before the fault as i can remember, but have tried different settings since the problem started but makes no difference
cheers

The whole central locking issue is a bit of a puzzle. I activated the anti hijack function a few years ago and that caused the central locking to crash all the time. (daily) So I promptly disabled that function.

Since then it happens every few months. Often pressing the buttons multiple times on the remote keyfob causes it. This usually happens when the keyfob is in my back pocket, then I bend over thus pressing all the buttons on the fob.

I can't really think why you just starting to get problems with it. Perhaps an ageing battery suffering a low voltage spike when you lock the car, causing the BCM to have a brain fart? Who knows!
