Default Power Locks on 02 Town and Country

The power lock on the driver-side sliding door of my 02 Town and Country van has recently stopped working. I can only lock and unlock the door manually. When I try to use the fob, or lock/unlock button on the driver side door nothing happens. The sliding door lock seems to "wiggle" a little, but will not fully engage.

Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,

Ryan L.

sounds like an accuator is going out. Door panel , latch assembly and reinstall.

Chrylser Tech,
If I am reading your response correctly, you are saying that in order to get to the accuator I need to first take off the door panel, then take the latch assembly apart and then reinstall a new accuator in the latch assembly. Is this what you mean? This is my first experience trying to fix this type of problem so I just want to make sure I understood your suggetion. If the accuator is the problem do you know if they're available at a parts store or is it a dealer item only. Also, do you know how much it might cost?

Thanks,

Ryan L.

I should have included that in the beginning. Both doors are power sliding doors.

ok this will only be a chrysler part Dont quote me on this but if u have power doors then I think the accuator for the locks is built in to the latch assembly but dont hold me to it. I replace the door latch for other issues and its been awhile sence i have had one of the door panels off to see if there is another accuator located besides in the door latch. Ask the local dealer if there is another accuator that works the locks if not then u haft to replace the door latch which is the part in the back of the door and also cinches the door closed when u close it by power.

I am having this exact same problem on my 2002 T&C with sliding power door locks. Today I disassembled the door panel and latch mechanism and concluded it is the actuator that locks/unlocks the door. Do I have to buy the entire latch assembly, or can I just buy the actuator? The acutator is held to the assembly with one screw, I would hope I could buy it separately. Thanks!
