power steering noise
got a 06 Caravan 3.3 litre and when it warms up the power steering pump seems to make a wining noise like the pump is starving for oil. It is really noticeable after a run on the highway. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. Tom

re:power steering noise
From what I read, the problem lies in the power streering resevoir itself. If you are able to suck out the old fluid, and shine a light into it, like a L.E.D. pen light, you will see a filter screen, and it should be white, so you can see the mesh. If it is black, then you have to remove the resevoir and either wash it out or buy a new one. I just finished doing this to my '03 Grand Caravan. I used a varsol tank to flush out the tank, then tossed in about ten or so bb's, filled it half full, and shook the tank gently. The bb's broke apart all the little parts apart, so it came out looking like pepper. I kept flshing it till it came out clear. I then pulled out as much fluid as I could from the pump, and installed the tank. Filled with fresh fluid and the noise went away. Of course, you have to take the bb's out of the tank before installation. The tank may run around 20-30 bucks. Type in the same as your thread in the search, and you will see the same problem others are having. Hope this helps, and good luck.
