However it did start eventually and turning it over 7 or 8 times constantly I'm suspecting either Glow plugs or an Injectors can anyone offer anymore pointers please I'm still having problem filling up no matter what position I put the filler neck at
Right time for another update the problem above was not connected to the fuelling problem but was a faulty injector (which was a bugger to get out) Once the injector was replaced, she ran fine but still had fuelling problem.

Checked all pipes and i mean all pipes none were damaged or dented. I therefore disconnected the little blue bottle convinced that this was the problem (AKA vapour separator which would indicate its mainly for petrol engines). I went to fill up, and guess what, no difference whatsoever.

I was becoming increasingly annoyed it was taking me nearly 15 minutes to 4 litres of diesel into her at the pumps.

I therefore decided in desperation to dismantle the filler neck completely. once off, i shoved a piece of hose up the filler neck from the bottom, and then did like wise from the top. The hose travelled to the same place. Convinced there was an obstruction in the filler neck I decided to open it up.

I began by using an hack saw, at the point which i had marked where the hose stopped ( IMPORTANT if you do this DO NOT cut all the way through the pipe as it bends at various points and you will need to align it properly. I just cut 3/4 of the way through then opened up the neck keeping it attached

Low and be hold right in front of me i found a concave disc almost level with the tube, which had a tinny 1mm hole in the middle. It is obviously an Anti Syphon device, that merely pivots in the tube and should technically swivel once hit with diesel fuel under pressure, but it was not doing so.

For some reason it had become jammed. I have now removed the disc, as i had partially cut through it anyway AND ALL IS WELL I CAN NOW FILL UP WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.

AS A POINTER
The filler neck is powder coated so you will need to grind the powder coating of in order to re-weld it and don't forget to re-spray it with something like Hammerite to protect the weld from corrosion

The reason I am posting this is as it will cost £350 to replace the filler neck via the main dealer and a secondhand one could just as
easy have the same problem.

Hope this helps someone

Your 'filler tube' problem is interesting as both my G/Voyager and Ram sometimes have this re-fuelling problem----so I wonder if this plate is sticking ??-------it is sooooo frustrating when it takes hours to fill---especially when it's hissing down with rain
When your injector was leaking---where was the fuel going ?---or was it just air going in??---did it miss-fire when it started??

I have a WARM start issue------very often it will fire ONCE then no-matter how long it's cranked it will not fire again----turn the key off and crank again, maybe 6-8 times before it starts------BUT-----if it fails to start--turn the key off and watch the speedo needle--after about 10/15 seconds it will drop onto the pin-------then crank it and 99% of the time it will start no miss-fire--just a bit of blue smoke

Hi Nigel I'm not sure where the diesel was going I just know it wouldn't start so I put it into the garage and they tested it and showed me this contraption with 4 clear bottles on and the no 3 one was half full. i can only presume is was issing into the cylinder head.

one way to tell if it is the ejector is if you lift the bonnet where the air filter is and the MAF mass air flow sensor on the black tube that goes to the air filler there is a little rubber cap which pulls of try squirting easy start into the hole and if it starts when your having the above symptoms
then its more than likely the injector as thats what i had to do till the injector was replaced

This topic is jumping all over different fueling subjects...

To get straight to the point, Just hold the fuel pump nozzle upside-down when filling up your 2001-2007 Voyagers.

TOTAL PAIN!

Imagine every time you fill up...
Explaining this to the Staff at the Filling Station.
Im disabled & I have to ask for someone to fill my tank, Its very embarasing while theres 10 cars waiting for the attendant to work it out... (WELL DONE CHRYSLER!)
