Angry Radiator/Transmission

I have a 2006 Town & Country. I've had two people look at my van. One mechanic tells me that I need a new radiator because it is leaking coolant into the transmission. The other mechanic tells me that the radiator is not even connected to the transmission. I know nothing about cars. Can anyone tell me if the radiator does or does not have a line connecting to the radiator?

my 2001 have radiator for the transmition and its way far from transmition my friend it have 2 hoses to conect to the transmitoin , but if you have coolant on transmition fluid mixed I don't think you need new radiator!!! if you have leaking coolant on radiator itself then you need new radiator!! you better take to someone very good!! don't go to the one that said that you need new radiator!! take another opinion with others, FREE right!! good luck

It's pretty common for vehicles to have a coil of tubing in the tank of the radiator that transmission oil flows through for cooling purposes. Sometimes this tubing can corrode to the point that coolant leaks into the transmission. So the idea isn't crazy. However, my 2001 does not have this kind of set up-- it has a separate mini-radiator for the transmission located in front of the engine radiator. This set up would not allow coolant to leak into the transmission oil. There's a good chance that your 2006 has the same set up as my 2001, but it's possible that Chrysler added a radiator tank-style cooler by that year. As mentioned above, the real question is whether coolant has made its way to the transmission-- if the fluid is milky, then it's likely you have a tank-style cooler that is leaking, in which case you'd need to replace the radiator to fix it.
