Does reverse light get checked MOT time

 

In Dutch MOT (APK) it will be checked and not working reverse lights is a reason to fail the test

 

The reversing light specific is not part of the UK-MOT test, ditto front & rear fog lights.

 

Isn't it the same in UK as in NL that all systems present on a car need to work?
In NL reverse lights are mandatory since 1990 anyway.

 

In the UK its not that they work, but if they malfunction. Example .... its an advisory only, but if the reversing lights come on at all when not in reverse its a fail. They are mandatory as a EURO fitted component but not part of the UK MOT, in the same way that an EGR is a fitted requirement but blank it to your hearts content, its not part of the UK MOT test.
