Hi,

I have bought a '12 T & C with around 22K miles on it. I have noticed that shifting sometimes is rough with a little shudder. This is only at lower speeds in heavy traffic. On the highway everything is smooth. It feels like a double shudder when it shifts as if it slips for a fragment of a second. Since I do not know what to expect from this transmission it may just be me being too sensitive, but I would like to ask here if the transmission on a newer T & C is totally smooth or if a little bit of shifting shudder is to be expected. The engine on this van is otherwise great and absolutely the smoothest quickest mini van I have ever driven.

 

Noto sure about the 12, but I noticed odd shifting on my 13. In my case it seems to be the economode button which tries to shift to save fuel. It does things like skipping gears and just feels weird. Also, in reading reviews, I've noticed more than a few complaints about the drive train being unrefined. Since I haven't bought a new car in ten years, I have nothing modern to compare it to. To me it seems fine unless in economode.
