Default Sliding Door Very Hard to Manually Open/Close

2004 T&C
The driver's side sliding door is very hard to manually open and close. The door lock actuator works (unlocks and locks), the power slider works (opens and closes). The motor obviously works to open and close the door but, I understand there is a clutch on the motor that allows manual operation to open and close the door. My questions:

- If the clutch is bad, will this cause the door to be hard to open/close manually?

- If so, does this mean replacing the motor and how hard is it?

Thanks in advance to the help!!!

Well I'm not sure if this is the case but something I did notice when I was searching for a GV was that on all of the ones I looked at, the drivers side was harder to operate than the passenger side. Now what I think, is that its down to the fact the curbs side door is used more frequently and so remains freer. I did however, clean out all the runners and everything on mine with WD40 and re-greased them all, it did improve the door operation significantly, but, its still not as free as the passenger side.
