Default T & C power seats - need Help & Answers

Hey Guys, I have a 2006 T&C Limited with all the toys, unfortunately the two front seats cannot be adjusted up and down. All other seat functions work but when you press the up/down lever you hear a motor rumbling but no action. I believe I have the 6 position seats - no memory. Questions are: Do I need to remove the seats totally to get to the motors or can you just remove the top portion leaving the guts on the floor to work on. I thought it was wierd that BOTH front seats are having the problem. Chime in guys and help me with this...are their any "seat removal instructions" around??

Check fuse 22 which goes to power seat circuit breaker. Then branches to drivers heated seat module or drivers power seat switch. Then follows to Memory seat, mirror adjustment, pedals, module. Do these seats need a bit lub I wonder to stop fuse blowing. Probably motors have square thread adjusters.

Default Thanks for the reply

Like I said in my previous post it is not an electrical problem I have full power at all motors but the motor that activates the front and back is just rumbling and not moving the spindle. Honestly it sounds like something is stripped inside.

under the body section you should find all you ever wanted to know about seat removal and dismantling. but basically, it's unbolt it from the floor.

Thanks Richard, I found the motor that controls the up/down and it is working but there must be a linkage problem. Sounds like a gear is stripped.

you might be lucky and be able to source a replacement gear if you can get the dimensions, but most likely a breakers yard will be your best bet

Yea Richard I hope to get the gear out and replace it with a kit maybe. Best case scenario would be something fell out or is misaligned and it's an easy fix. Fingers crossed and I will update with results.
