Thumbs up Towing

Hi All,
New memeber from South Wales and a Chrysler Voyager novice.
Just glad I have found this Forum.
I have a Voyager 2.5 CRD 2003 and have just started towing with this unit.
I am a little concerned as the temperature gauge rises to the halfway mark when towing.
Is this normal? As previous vehicles have never done this.

i have a 1998 2.5td voyager when towing the caravan up a long hill the temp does rise a bit as the engine is under a lot more load ,check to make sure the cooling fans are working, sounds normal though

Thanks Dan,
Just a little worried as don't want any overheating problems.
Fans do come on when aircon running but I have not heard them coming on apart from that.
I am not sure at which point on the temperatue guage they kick in.
I must confess last time I towed it was a very hot day and in stop start traffic for a while.

We tow with a 2.5TD as well, and the temp is a little higher most of the time, but when we go up a big hill it does go up quite a lot, but then comes back down when you start a descent. Towing is the only time that I have ever heard the radiator fans come on.

My 3.3 used to warm up when towing.
The rad went so I changed it, It NEVER moves over half now, but it stays at half all the time.
Its not an easy job without de-gassing the Air-Con, but I managed it with skinned knuckles!
