Default Will a newer engine work with my town and country

My engine just threw a rod and I was going to get a used engine from the local salvage yard. My town and country is a 2001, was wondering if I could get anywhere from 2001-2007, from pictures it looks like the are all the same.

Thanks,
Dan

Be a case of comparing yours and the recipient and engine size got to be the same. Not sure about the pump if it will need to be reprogramed to run with a different ECU.
Good thread to know what you find, are advised of and the end result.

Also the VIN code, if you can get it, will tell you specifics relating to yours.

I learned that in theory everything is possible
Some friends of mine have build an advanced 2005 turbo diesel engine in an old Mercedes 190 and it runs great..

But it won't be easy to build I reckon.
