RE: window
It is a small posibility that if you can get to the motor and give it a (shock)tap it with a tool of some sort , Just enough to dislodge stuck brushes in motor it may help, I have similar problem before, doesn't hurt to try , and there is nothing to loose except about an hour of your time.

RE: window
I had same problem - would work intermittently and later only when I gave the door a sharp hit with my hand. Then it stopped altogether- quoted for new motor & regulator in Australia was AU$580- so decided to have a closer look. Took door panel trim off and removed 3 screws holding motor to door panel. Then undid 2 screws holding the motor cover to the regulator. There I coud see the problem- the brushes could not move any more as the wire braid to the brushes was stopping any more movement of brushes. I simply removed the brushes and used a small drill to make the slots longer for the braid to slide in the plastic guide. This gave an extra 1/16th inch of movement for the brushes to contact the armature and works a treat. Should give it another 4 or 5 years and then I'll look for new brushes.
