I have a 1999 Plymouth Breeze that wont change gears. We let the car sit overnight and drove it and got it up to Advance. I had Advance Auto pull the codes on the check engine light and this is what we got.

P0725 Engine Speed Sensor Circuit
Possible Causes
- Open or shorted CKP Sensor circuit condition
- Poor CKP sensor electrical connection
- Failed CKP sensor

WHEN IS THE CODE DETECTED?
The P0725 Codes are triggered when the TCM does not receive the engine speed signal from ECM.

SYMPTOMS
- Engine Light ON

P0700 Transaxle Control System
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Shorted or open circuit within transmission control module (TCM)
- Failure of transaxle control module

SYMPTOMS
- Engine Light ON
- Driveability problems
- Transaxle shifting problems

CHRYSLER DESC
The TCM monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is sent to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. The ECM stores the P0700 code and it means the TCM detected a malfunction with the transaxle controls.

The guy at Advance (who is also a mechanic) said he thought this was related to the Input and/or Output Speed Control Sensor. I replaced both sensors and as soon as we stared driving again, after about 3 blocks, it stopped shifting out of 1st gear and the Check Engine light came back on again.

Another person at Advance said it could also be the Crankshaft Position/Crank Angle Sensor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
