I have a 99 cirrus with a 2.5 V6 that the tranny went out. Actually, it started leaking fluid severely out of the bell housing. Took it to a couple of mechanics and they said it needed new transmission. One said that the case cracked? Never heard of this before. I thought maybe it was a seal, but they are saying it needs a new tranny. I have worked on a lot of transmissions before, but RWD ones, not FWD. But I figured it should be similar. Is there a pump seal in these, just like a RWD tranny? I also have a 97 stratus parts car with a 2.4L 4 cylinder in it. It shows they are the same trans, an A604(41TE) but would the bolt pattern be the same. Can I swap the trans from the 4 cyl into the Cirrus with the 6 cyl?
