my code reader says everything is operable yet I still have a engine light on does anyone have any idea where I might look for this problem

 

For starters, why don't you post your question in one of the car sections appropriate for your vehicle? You have posted in the "forum issues" section where people who have questions about the how forum works post their questions.

When posting, include the make, model, mileage and year of your vehicle.

If your code reader can't pull a specific code (with numbers), then get or borrow a better code reader. The check engine light can also indicate transmission problems.
