2.5L wont rev ????
Bought a 96 sebring few weeks ago, no spark changed crank sensor and it fired right up. The car has been sitting for almost a year before i bought it. It idles fine (check engine is on at idle) but when you rev it revs fine up until about 2500-3000 rpm where it stumbles and wont go past that. I changed the fuel filter didnt help. Im thinking a sensor of some sort but dont know which to try first. I have another sebring same motor 2.5 that i bought for parts it runs great so no lack of parts lol just looking for suggestions on what i should try first
Thanks

RE: 2.5L wont rev ????
i havent made it anywhere to get codes scanned but i got somewhere.
Changed plugs same thing, drygas, new gas etc same thing.
Changed o2 sensors w/ ones out of a good running parts sebring i have and ran good no engine light for about 15 seconds no hesitation reved all the way out.after that engine light back on Nows it revs a little higher before cutting out but ...
Im thinking maybe cat converter plugged a little and when the o2 sensors ready that they tripped the dash light??
any suggestions?

Hello, chrysler tech is right, you need tofind out what codes are stored. You aresearching for a needle in the hay stack. You can replace parts all day long. Go bya dealer ship or a repair shop. Offer a tech $20.00 bucks to come by after work or on a weekend to scan it. You will be amazed at the help you will get. I have about $6000.00 in myOTCscancomputer for road tractors, and when some one ask me to help them out, Hey every little bit helps the family budget.God Bless.

RE: 2.5L wont rev ????
ya you make a good point i'll try that. From my experience (basically just autozone scanners) they dont really pinpoint much and its the same thing end up changing parts out that dont really need it. I like the accomplishment of diagnosing a problem, but with cars now a days you cant do it w/ basic tools.
