2001 sebring 3.0 idle issue
I am new here and hoping to find help with my 2001 sebring 3.0. It sat for 3 years and i jumped the vechile and it ran very well. I got it home on a trailer and put a new battery in the car. Now on a cold start the idle is low and i have to keep ot running for 3 minutes before it will idle on its own. When warm it idles at 1400. Seems to run fine. I have put 500 miles on the car . I took to our state emission inspecrion test and the computer on the vechile is "not ready for testing" so it failed. I drove for another 500 miles took back for a re test and computer is still not ready for testing. Prob due to the high idle? I have changed the idle air control valve with another used one and have the same idle. I have cleaned throttlebody as best as i can. Thank you in advance for any help on this idle issue.

The usual problem with a high idle is a vacuum leak. Take a length of tubing, hold one end near your ear and place the other end everywhere on the engine where there's a vacuum fitting or a vacuum hose. Listen for a hissing sound. You may not be able to have good access to the vacuum reserve tank and brake booster but do the best you can. Hoses should be suspect since they are approaching 20 years old and may be getting dried out and hard. Good luck.
