Default 300 oil leak

My 2000 300 has a major oil leak. Wife drove thru deep water; it did not stall. A day later loud engine knock and severe oil leak. Engine oil level is fine, it's not trans oil either.. Can't afford mechanic yet anyone have any ideas. it's leak from the front of engine I can see it collect in plastic pan underneath engine.
