Default Fuel filter leaks

Hi there I have a 1996 Chrysler intrepid 3.3l that has developed a pretty bad fuel leak by the inline filter (tank side) the steel line turns to a braided line close to the filter which then connects to the filter and it's leaking right out of that point. Does the braided line have a o ring in it?

After 25 years the braided line probably needs replacement.

So I took the old filter off and checked inside the hose and the o ring looked fine so I just replaced the filter to see what would happen and leak fixed so I'm assuming the filter was pretty much blocked and it was causing a back pressure which in turn caused it to leak
