Default HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP! Need Data Plate Date Decoded

Hey Everybody,

I am a New Car Dealer and have a customer who is trying to use her 1984 Chrysler New Yorker in the "Cash for Clunkers" Program. The car had to have been manufactured no earlier than 08/84.

The MONTH/DAY Build Date Code on the Data Plate on the inner fenderwell under the hood is NAE.

Can anybody here help. This nice lady REALLY needs a new car.

Thanks-Mike

I can't believe that they were still building '84 vehicles after 7/31/84. Model changeover generally took place beginning about July 31 or Aug 1 and ran for two or three weeks.
Her car is over 25 years old and eligible for "historical vehicle" plates.

I know. The only reason we are putting the extra effort into it, is because it has a very high manufacture number, so it must have been a very late '84 build.

I should have posted a picture of the car, not only does it qualify for Historic Plates, it looks like an antiquity that was dug up someplace. HAHAHA

Can you decode the NAE?

Thanks again-Mike

Try this site:

http://www.iccahome.org/

It's a Chrysler collectors site. Lots of historical info.
