Default Idiot Lights!

Does anyone know if you can eliminate an idiot light on a 2000 300M? I mean is the dash a printed circuit board like a lot of vehicles where you could just scratch out the solder to eliminate the light?

If you are talking about the check engine light, why would you want to eliminate that? Your car is trying to tell you something. Take it over to Autozone and have them read the codes to find out what it is trying to say. Then fix it.

Another method is a .38 square into the light. This is not recommended, however.

No ,.. actually what I was referring to was an "ABS" and "TRAC" light which were illuminated constantly. Upon a dealership diagnosis, I discovered that it was in need of an ABS module....which after parts and labor would be nearly a $1,000 bill!! I find that a bit too steep to put into a nearly 9 year old vehicle which operates fine without it! I've done this light eliminating procedure , for the same reason, on a 99' Silverado with pleasing results.. however the 300M dash looks a bit more intimidating to remove !? This is not an inspection item , so it is merely a personal preference issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.........
