Default neon imobiliser fob

i wonder if anyone can help my father in law's neons imobiliser fob has stopped working suspec the battery is flat but if not can you disconect the imobiliser from the circuittry to allow him to continue useing the car

Replace the battery first. It wouldn't be much of a theft protection system if it could be defeated that easily.

i run two ford probe gts from the late 90s, and they have a problem with dry solder joints in the immobiliser unit, so we remove the offending unit and repair it. where it lasts for so long then we have to do the same again, or we remove it completly and fit an aftermarket unit instead, that is what i would do if i cant get the original unit in the neon repaired then i would fit an aftermarket unit in its place.

Can't help you much here on this one. They don't use those European devices on this side of the Atlantic. Maybe one of our British subscribers might chime in.
