Default Sebring motor question

I have a 2010 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Touring. I t has a 2.7 motor. I got jerked over by a mechanic who was supposed to do an engine swap. The end result after court was that I got my car and an alleged "warranty" replacement engine on a pallet. The original engine was never removed and the engine on the pallet is a locked up piece of garbage. How can I determine the origin of the engine on the pallet, and verify the engine in the car is the original. I know there should be some type of cast number or maybe a vin number on the engine block. My question is where? What would a cast number look like and how can I decode it to attach to a Vin number?

Engine numbers on left bank (same on 2.7) Dealer may be able to cross to VIN
