Try replacing the hose. Somehow, they can go bad and act like a check valve, allowing fluid to go towards the caliper but not return.
Failing that (cheap), it could be the proportioning valve if you have non-abs brakes (not so cheap) or the abs controller (expensive) if you have abs.
