Default Throttle body cleaning?

When cleaning the throttle body on a 2006 Sebring, should one remove body or just wipe blade and body clean with cleaner and rag? Somebody told me to shoot carb cleaner thru little red straw that comes with cleaner down a little bleed hole just beyondthrottle body butterfly blade. Does this sound like accurate advice? Thanks...

I dont know alot about the type of fuel system but I thought the only thing going through your throttle body is air and that the fuel is injected into the cylinder or intake plenium by the fuel injectors. Any thing you spray or put directly into the intake is unfiltered. Unless you have a problem with the way your engine runs I would leave it alone. If there is a problem I would try to address the problem Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the reply. Why I ask, the guy at the Chrysler garage told my girlfriend she should have the throttle body serviced/cleaned. The car has 45000 miles on it and he said if she has them clean it out it would pay for itself in gas savings? Car runs fine. He said carbon builds up inside and causes problems. Should I leave it alone do you think?

Hey Moe thanks for the reply. There is no little bleed/vent hole near throttle blade to worry about?
