Default 2005 Town and Country HVAC Blower

I have a 2005 T&C van with front only AC Manual control. The blower quit working. Removed the Resistor assembly behind the glove box and found that the "resistor" looking component, with two radial leads reads open, (no resistance) with an ohm meter. A temporary jumper causes the motor to run. The markings on this component read "15A 250V TF 172C". It appears to me that this component is either a Thermistor or a Varistor.

Can someone identify this component and where a replacement may be obtained?

Try the parts counter at your local Chrysler dealership.

I have eMailed the local dealer parts dept. for price and availability. I even provided part number. They replied that they would get back to me. It's been eleven days and no reply.I sent complaint to Chrysler Hqrs. on poor service. Haven't heard from them either. I guess they are too busy promoting new car sales to worry about fixing old cars.
