Default 2007 aspen fuel splash problem

When I fill the gas tank and the auto shut-off on the pump hits, the pump stops but fuel comes rushing out of the filler tube, splashing on the Aspen, me and the ground. The dealer said it might be the filler pipe. I had them replace it. The problem did not go away. The dealer said they checked with Chrysler and were told the next step is for me to pay for them to replace the fuel tank - at a cost of several hundred dollars. Chrysler doesn't seem to have a way to analyze the problem except to keep replacing expensive parts until the problem goes away. Is anyone aware of: 1. a similar problem; 2. a fix for the problem; 3. a way to analyze the problem w/out just replacing expensive parts. Thank you. jski

My 2007 does the same thing. Just listen for it to start gulging as it gets almost full and click it off. Works better than any Dealer options!

Search for Aspen Fuel Issue. Mopar had a bad batch of check valves, causing the fuel to gush out. The tank gets replaced. My 07 Aspen was covered under warranty, for my '06 Durango (not under warranty) I paid labor, Chrysler paid parts.
