Default 2019 Big Horn Classic... Same Issue!

I bought my truck 4/13/2019, within two days of ownership my truck had this exact issue, would engage a drive gear. I brought it into the dealer and they couldn't replicate it after having it two days, so they sent me on my way.

Thankfully a miracle happened, as the very next day I was in the dealer lot when it replicated the issue! I called my salesman over and he witnessed it happening first hand. So far I've "owned" the truck for 9 days, but the dealership has been in possession of it longer than me with no updates, concerns, or contact for me.

The real icing on the cake is my clear coat / paint is PEELING on my driver's side door jam.... This is beyond frustrating.

Yes it’s very frustrating! It’s sad that so many of these are having the same problem and all with low miles , I don’t even dare take mine more than a few miles away . So much for getting a new vehicle to travel with ! I see a couple people saying they are replacing there transmissions, so they will prob do that to yours .
Good luck and hopefully they get yours fixed up soon !

Here's to hoping, but as of today the dealership still has no answer for what's happening or what they're going to do about this. If FCA doesn't come up with something quick, they'll be looking at a class action suit with all the people dealing with this B.S.

The worst part of the deal for me is that I bought this truck to be reliable... I work for a railroad that has me on call 24 hours a day, 6 days a week. If this truck fails me enroute to work, then I could be terminated. I sincerely doubt FCA will put food on my table if that happens.

To Chrylser Cares. You all need to get rid of that rotary shifter or as we call it GRANNY ****.

You and other car manufacturers have had nothing but problems with it. There are problems with it going into PARK as well.

They tried something similar in the 50s and got rid of it. Some things DO NOT NEED TO BE CHANGED. (Except that damned Pink Thingy) The standard shifter that has served you for decades should be brought back. I have a 2006 300 V8Hemi and a 2014 300C and wouldn't trade either of them for the new cars with those idiot Granny ***** that are nothing but dangerous and a threat to safety. What moron thought those were a good idea???? With my 2006 (the best year for them as they were built by Mercedes) I can hit the brakes and downshift in less than 2 seconds. Can't even get to the Granny **** that fast in an emergency. So I've test driven them and love all the bells and whistles but not that ****.

Do get rid of it.

Otherwise love the car.

Default Same thing here

Just bough a 2019 ram big horn this week. Had the vehicle not move while putting it in drive while test driving it but assumed it was nothing. Like I had not closed the door properly or couldnt figure the parking break. It happened twice. I signed for the vehicle today and havnt even picked it up yet. I decided to search this and see what I was doing but turns out it's not me, it's the vehicle. Many others have had this issue it seems. Has Chrysler really not been able to figure out what's doing this, even months after people have been saying this? I had brought it up to the dealer and he said its that's weird and brushed it off. He probably really did think I just didnt know what I was doing and I'm not saying he would sell something that he knew was faulty but come on. Now what do I do? I signed for this vehicle. Dont even have it yet. Already stressing about it.

Hi Leeandanne,
We certainly understand why this may be concerning. If this continues to happen and you would like to have your dealer look into this, please send our team a private message and we would be happy to get you connected with a case specialist!

Default Nervous..this just happened to us!

My husband and I just purchased a 2019 Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn edition and this same thing just happened to us. Very distressed to see this feedback in this forum. We are calling the dealer but has anyone had any success with their dealers ?

Default Same issue

I have had the same issue with my 2019 ram 1500, the first time it happened the first day of ownership. I took a video when it happened and it's been at the dealer twice, this last time they kept the truck for a week and they couldn't figure it out. After them seeing the video they blamed me and said I wasn't letting the engine sit for a minute or so. My truck has done this 7 times since I purchased it and it doesn't seem like it's going to get fixed, I will continue taking it to the dealer if this keeps happening, maybe they will get annoyed and actually fix it.

Default 2019 Ram 1500 sport won't move in drive

2019 Ram 1500 Sport. Menzies Chrysler, Canada.
I have the same issue as Jaketerk. His video is spot on as to what happens. First time it happened was on the 3rd day of having it maybe had 200km on it. Most recently was Friday October 11th,2019. Stopped for gas and attempted several times switching from park to drive and back and forth starting over from shutting it off until it finally caught the gear hard throwing me into the steering wheel. It felt as if I had been rear ended. It was so hard I had to get out to make sure. Also to look under the truck to see if I broke something. Went straight to dealer and they said they have heard of this issue and its a software issue. They said there are updates they can do. It's going in tomorrow afternoon October 16th, 2019 so let's see what happens and if they actually resolve the problem. Wish me luck.
