96 LHS problems
I have a 96 LHS that will drive good for a few days then randomly die and not want to start, sometimes it will start after 5 minutes sometimes 3hrs, I'm not sure what it could be, the oil light turns on after it dies but its got full oil, I'm not sure if this car has a fail safe for the oil level sensor that it makes the car experience a no start condition if it is low, it has a obd port but it will only show me the engine rpm on my scanner, I'm not sure if it could be that or a fuel issue, some insite would be greatly appreciated

This is a normal condition as the engine is not running and oil pressure drops to 0.
This also confirms at least part of the Ignition Switch is good. Dash is still getting power.
Check/ Swap the ASD Relay with another same one in the PDC and look at the contacts on the relay for signs of arcing (poor connection)
Check Fuel Pressure with a gauge. 3.5 should have a tap on the fuel rail near #4 Cyl. Auto Parts stores usually rent gauges.
Pressure should be constant ALL the time. KOEO, KOER, and hold after shut down. 58 +_5 PSI Spec.

There is no oil level/pressure fail-safe on this vehicle.
Typically a fuel related problem will cause the engine to stumble/misfire as the fuel pressure in the injector rails drop. The engine just quitting is not indicative of a fuel pressure problem. When the engine does not start, spray some starting fluid into the throttle body. If the engine fires it would indicate a fuel related issue. If the engine does not fire the issue is more likely electrical.
This vehicle is OBD1 which is why your OBD2 scanner is not able to pull codes.
I believe the key-dance for pulling diagnostic codes is still in play with a '97. Rotate the key run(not start)-off-run-off-run within 5 seconds. The check engine lamp will flash and display 2-digit codes. The digits are separated by a short pause and the codes are separated by a longer pause. The first code that will always appear is 12 (1 flash pause 2 flashes). The end of codes is always 55 (5 flashes pause 5 flashes). These codes will give you the pacing of the flashes for any codes in between. This link identifies the codes that may be presented
