Fuel issue/Grand Voyager/04/part no 05093924AB here in uk
Hi there, im new to CF.com so if you can help me round this site i would appreciate it.
I live in theUK and own a Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD LTD, Manufacture year 2004. My car has gone into limp mode and im struggling to find out why? It happened during normal driving conditions at 40mph. the breakdown guy came out and connected up his laptop but he found no codes. We road tested the car and it continued to do it. The towtruck then came and my car ended up being taken to the main dealer. After nearly 24hrs of no contact i rang them. They told me that during the diagnostic check they performed it came up with the fault of the SOLENOID which sits on the FUEL RAIL. They were told by CHRYSLER that the solenoid is only available with the fuel rail at an incredible cost of £855 (GBP). The total fitted cost is over £1000 (GBP). OUCH!! How can i be sure they are telling me the truth, after all i told them that the fuel pump sounded much noisier than normal but was told to start with the fuel rail first.
Does anyone know anything that could help. No part available in UK and back order in USA. Would the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7crd have the same rail or solenoid. Thanks
