Default Rear hatch Power liftgate Problem

04 Pacifica AWD
The power liftgate opens and then closes immediately. If it is open it will not close on it's own. I just joined and can't find anything on this using the search function. Any Ideas or help with the search I would appreciate it. It acts like it needs adjusted or that it might need a sensor replaced.
Thanks in advance.

It is QUITE COMMON for the "Strong arm Struts " to wear out.

The liftgate is meant to do this, in the event of an obstruction, it will reverse direction.

If the struts are worn, the added "DEAD WEIGHT" of the liftgate will be seen by the liftgate module as an obstruction, and reverse direction.

A WORD OF CAUTION...I have seen them wear to the point that the liftgate comes CRASHING down....So make sure your Skull is out of the way.....

I should clarify a bit. The liftgate opens completely but instead of stopping it returns to closed. Also if it is open it doesn't close with the motor. It will beep twice open a little more and then stop moving.
