I am trying to add, and bleed coolant. The coolant is just bubbling up, and coming out of the overflow. I’ve done it before successfully. I changed the thermostat recently so I don’t think that is the problem. I even drained all the fluid out from underneath the radiator, and added coolant. The coolant isn’t flowing through the vehicle it just bubbles back out of the overflow!!!

do it do this when the engine is hot or all the time ?

it happens when the car has been running, and is hot. No coolant comes out of the clear hose I connect to the bleeder valve. It is not flowing through there has to be a blockage or air bubble. I’ve heard tilting the front of the car forward helps when draining coolant. I don’t know what else to do other than pay a shop that has the vacuum coolant machine.

Use this put water/ coolant in the funnel until 1/4 the way up let the engine run on flat level surface if you see air bubbles after it has warmed up and the level does not go down that means the exhaust is leaking into the coolant and the heads will need to be shaved and new headgasket installed.

err I didn’t explain correctly. I don’t mean bubbles like bubbles in the coolant. The coolant I pour into the overflow won’t go in. A little coolant goes in, but then it won’t take anymore. Then when the engine gets hot it spills out… like a clogged toilet.

there is a bleeder screw at the front of the intake manifold on the metal lower half open that up will allow trapped air to escape

The reservoir bottle should not be filled to the top. There are marks on the reservoir to guide the fill level. The reservoir fills as the coolant heats up and is pulled back as the coolant cools. The idea is to keep the engine and radiator. full After the cooling system is serviced there may be air bubbles that get worked out after a number of cycles. Just need to keep monitoring the rservoir to keep the coolant at the proper fill level.

Yeah I didn’t fill it to the top. Just put some coolant in while the engine is running with the bleeder screw turned open. I have done this before, but now it isn’t working. The coolant in the overflow reservoir doesn’t go in it just spills out as the engine heats up. Like no coolant comes out of the bleeder valve… just steam. I just replaced the thermostat. I think there are air pockets that aren’t working themselves out maybe?!

is the car level or at least the front facing up? get a coolant funnel that way it wont spill out as it heats up.
