lower console cover removal 300M
anyone know what the heck holds this lower cover on?...my manual tells me to remove it and what to remove before removing it, but not HOW the darn thing is attached... I need ROOM to get at the mode door actuator motor and it's mating pivot point to try n resolve an ATC code 24 error (mode door error) to see if i have a bad motor or jammed doors-air only blows out the dash vents regardless of what command I give the ATC...I've tried to get at it thru removing the whole radio assy, but just not enough room that way to get at the darn motor's bolts....looks like ya also need to be a flexable gymnast and the size of a Hobbit to contort yerself to work in this area ;-).......thanks
This may sound like a lot but not really that much work.
Remove dash left end cap (fuse cover ) pulls off, no fasteners.
Lower Knee bolster needs to come off, 2 screws exposed by removing fuse cover, then just pulls off clips on the lower and right side.
Disconnect wires and park brake cable.
Remove center dash bezel/HVAC control. Gently pry around the edges, no fasteners other than clips, disconnect the battery before unplugging the climate control panel or it will set a code (36)
Now you are ready for the side panel. 1 screw at the console exposed by removing the center dash bezel, 2 screws into the dash exposed by removing the knee bolster. Gently pry the console side cover off starting at the back, once all clips are free slide it rearward and it is out.
Tons of great information specific to the 300M www.300mclub.org
